Church Ambassadors

Goal

The goal of the Church Ambassador program is twofold: to keep churches informed and engaged on public policy issues that impact their Biblical values, and for NDFA to receive church input on policy issues that are most important to them.

What is a Church Ambassador?

A Church Ambassador is someone who is passionate about public policy and who is interested in and able to serve as a liaison on these issues between their church and NDFA.

Why Should I Become a Church Ambassador?

There are several exciting benefits to becoming a Church Ambassador. The core of the program will be NDFA providing you with resources and information on policy issues. This will take many forms, some of which are described below.

Before the legislative session starts, you will have exclusive access to our legislative strategy for the year. Further, during the legislative session, we plan to provide real-time updates on particular bills, and we will have weekly summary meetings to give you an overview. As an opportunity presents itself during the legislative session, we will help arrange a visit to come and see what a day at the Capitol looks like for us and for your legislators. We also plan to have a Pastor’s Day which you would coordinate with your pastor so they can come and see the public policy process in real time and hopefully sit with one of their legislators during the floor session!

Outside of the legislative session, you will get advance notice of upcoming events and speakers. We will provide discounted or free tickets to many events, VIP seating, and you will also get priority for speaking requests, if you would like one of us to speak at an event or your church (e.g., church service, bible study, family small group).

Finally, you will have priority access to information and experts. If you ever have public policy questions, you will be able to reach out to us and you will be given priority for information requests. If we cannot answer your question, we will connect you with someone who can help.

Roles and Responsibilities

Your role as a Church Ambassador is not only to be our voice to your church, but also your church’s voice to us. We want you to be current on public policy issues and will provide you with written materials, regular briefings, and during legislative sessions, real-time updates. It is expected that you will inform church leadership and congregants on an ongoing basis about these key policy issues and help facilitate their involvement in the political process. Depending upon the issue, we may also be able to provide electronic versions of items such as bulletin inserts or flyers to keep church members informed and engaged. We require that you facilitate an initial in‑person meeting between NDFA and your church leadership when the program begins. Length of service as a Church Ambassador is a minimum of one year.
